United Nations and Glock Statement

On Friday of last week, rumors and misinformation were circulated on the web and elsewhere that GLOCK, Inc. had signed an agreement with the UN. GLOCK, Inc. has not signed any agreement with the United Nations and has no intention of doing so. However, GLOCK, Inc. does stand behind the World Forum on the Future of Sport Shooting Activities (WFSA) and that organization’s belief that the UN should not be involved in American domestic firearms policy. To that end, we support the position taken by the WFSA that American firearm manufacturers and distributors will continue to voluntarily self-regulate and abide by US policy on marking firearms for tracing by law enforcement, i.e. the placement of serial numbers on all firearms distributed in the US and elsewhere.
